I love this type of architecture. Looks like I’m going to have to visit New Mexico soon. I did spend the night a couple of years ago but drove in at night, found a motel, and left the next morning. But I will be back! Google maps says it’s 9 1/2 hours away. That’s not so bad!

Beautiful pics of an old Basilica! A lot of churches/basilicas seem to me operate more like museums now. Probably easier to connect donations that way these days than passing a wicker plate. What a grand staircase! Wish N & I’s house had architectural detail.

I lived in ABQ for a few years, so I visited Santa Fe a lot. I wasn’t and still am not a city tour kind of guy, so I always headed straight into the wilderness, including Taos. Much cooler temperature. It was pretty cool to check out Georgia O’Keeffe’s museum and learned about her passion for the desert paintings, though.
