I know, it’s terrible. But I read that they’ve opened in a limited way through one of the entrances. Obviously you won’t be able to make the loop, but it will help everyone who depends on tourism. So many houses were destroyed too from the looks of it.

The day we visited wasn’t the best weather, and photos of the viewpoints don’t show the magnitude of the place. It would have been a great place for drone shots, but we couldn’t determine whether they were allowed or not.

I wonder what the confluence looks like now or when the Yellowstone flooded recently.

I find the history of the early settlers fascinating (maybe because I grew up loving the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder). And the river confluence itself looks worth more than a few photos!
