Great photos! I was just there last month, loved the area with the beautiful yet strange trees! I took several pictures of them as well. Does anyone know what type of tree it is? I’ve been searching through the internet, and there are so many different results.

Lovely shots John. We have very good friends nearby in Carlsbad so try to get out there for hikes whenever we visit. It’s a truly beautiful spot.

Great pics! Even better descriptors having been there before I know first hand that the smell is as pervasive as the beauty. I’ve always thought that tree is cool!
