I originally used Photoshop Elements for my major photo editing. It’s much cheaper than Photoshop, and half the price of Lightroom. A friend of mine gave me a tour of his Lightroom application, and I really like what he showed me it can do. Lightroom is a “different animal” from the typical photo editing program, so it takes a bit to adjust to its structure. I am still no expert at advanced Lightroom functions, but I’ve learned enough to make most of the tweaks that I need anyway.
In the past, I’ve used Paint Shop Pro, as well. It’s a great photo editor, and more than capable for what I need to do. When I started this photo blog, I thought I might want to someday go to Photoshop. I figured learning Elements would get me a long way down that learning curve.
Thanks for your comments. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your future posts.

I do have additional Software for Photo Editing, but I have not used it that much. Photoshop Lightroom 5 is one of them, but I was having trouble understanding some of the functions of it. Water marking my Images was one of them. I also have Cyberlink Photodirector that works pretty good. Sometimes I don’t know which one is better. The Cyberlink came with my HP Envy Laptop that has 750 Gigs of RAM. I can’t afford those Photoshop CS6. Just to expensive. I’m in no way a Pro Photographer. As far as adding more memory to this machine, I think I’ll leave well enough alone for right now.
