Streets Alive Fargo brings together a community of individuals wishing to improve their physical fitness with a day physical activities
Fargo, ND (and other places)
This week’s challenge is Community. From the challenge post, “This week, in a post created specifically for this challenge, show us community, and interpret it any way you please!”
The image example in the post is actually not a community of people, or even of animals. It is a community of objects. You can view the image at the link at the end of this post if you are curious.
Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary has a simple definition of community.
com·mu·ni·ty noun, often attributive \kə-ˈmyü-nə-tē\
- a group of people who live in the same area (such as a city, town, or neighborhood)
- a group of people who have the same interests, religion, race, etc.
- a group of nations
The definition then expands to define communities as groups of individuals, not necessarily human. Looking through my collection of images, I found several possible examples of human and animal communities. I elected to concentrate on ad hoc communities, those that come together annually, monthly, weekly or whatever time frame they choose. These communities are subgroups, maybe of a city, county, state or nation. I submit for your constructive criticism, a gallery of ad hoc communities.
A community of classic car enthusiasts at Barrett-Jackson’s annual Scottsdale Auto Show and Auction
A community of tourists watching an old-fashioned “gunfight” melodrama at Goldfield, AZ
A community of hikers come together to hike the Bear Canyon Trail near Tucson, AZ
A community of people enjoying a day at Poipu Beach on Kauai, HI

Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as good as when I arrived. I’ll be back!
P.S. I would have left you a LIKE on all the posts I read (I think I read eight, maybe nine) but LIKE buttons are not working for me on blogs with a URL that ends with wordpress.com……..:(
Thanks much for stopping by. Come back again soon.
