Buckeye, Arizona.
I am writing this post early on Thursday morning for publication on Sunday. Just a few days ago, we arrived in Buckeye to spend the winter. We’ve had a fair amount of rain this year and our plants all look the better for it. Even though an automatic watering system keeps the yard alive, it doesn’t thrive during the hot summers unless there is rain. One plant that was doing particularly well is our Yellow Bell bush. The trumpet horn flowers are plentiful this year and the bees were busy working the flowers.
About the photo: I’d never tried capturing a flying bee with a cell phone camera before. After several tries, I finally got an image I felt worth sharing. There was lots of extraneous background so I cropped it to square format and modified the structure and clarity increasing the contrast.
For those who celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I hope you had a great visit with family and friends and I wish you all the best for the upcoming holiday season, no matter how you celebrate it. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple, the image must be captured on a mobile device… in this case, a Samsung S7 cell phone. In most browsers, you can click on the image for a more detailed view.
