Cellpic Sunday – On the Road

Breckenridge, Colorado.

U.S. Highway 40 through Colorado is a beautiful scenic drive. In early September we were on our way to Dinosaur National Monument (a Travel Tuesday post about that fabulous park is coming soon), we were struck by the mixture of deciduous trees among the evergreens. At just the right time of year, the mix of colors can be stunning. I saw this band of color as we were driving along, no particular place to stop, so I opened my window (seated behind the driver) and snapped this cell photo.

About the photo: I didn’t have time to set the camera on my Samsung S20U into the Pro mode, so I accepted the exposure pre-destined in the camera’s electronics. The camera chose f/1.8, 1/120 sec, ISO-32. I’d have picked a faster exposure to minimize the motion blur at the very bottom of the image. We were probably traveling 50-60 miles per hour or so.

After downloading it to my computer, I did the usual run through Adobe Lightroom and then to Luminar AI for final tweaks. If you click on the image, you can pixel peep in 2K HD resolution while viewing it on my Flickr site.

I encourage fellow bloggers to create their own Cellpic Sunday posts. I never have a specific topic for this feature, and the only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone or even a dashcam, that’s acceptable as well. The second rule is to link your challenge-response to this post or leave a comment here with a link to your post in the comment.

    • It is an amazingly beautiful highway. 🙂 I am always impressed by the quality of images I get from my Samsung S20U.
I’ve been seeing ads to get a decent upgrade price to an S20U, but I don’t know how they can make the camera any better.
