Branson, Missouri.
This Cellpic Sunday post, shared on November 10, honors Veterans Day in the United States, which is celebrated on November 11 each year. The Veterans Memorial Garden in Branson, Missouri, is a tribute to the men and women who have served our country. It was created by Ben Kinel, a former U.S. Marine and master gardener, and is a labor of love from the Branson community.
The garden is a free attraction open 365 days a year. The centerpiece is a bronze sculpture (visible on the right in the photo) titled “Staying Low,” which features twelve World War II soldiers on a scouting mission. The garden also features flowering trees, shrubs, and plants, as well as plaques with the names of veterans and passages about their service.
The Memorial Garden is located at the intersection of State Highway 76 and Roark Valley Road in Branson. The living tribute honors the sacrifices made by our military men and women who have so gallantly served our nation. You can find more details about the garden on their website here.
About the photo: On our first visit to Branson, we drove through the city to see what we could discover. We were driving on Highway 76, and while waiting for the traffic light to change, we found the garden outside my window. I was seated behind the driver’s seat and grabbed my S23U cell phone to capture this image.
Only minor edits were made to the photo. After a minor crop adjustment, I used Luminar Neo’s Enhanced AI tool to add some contrast and tweak the exposure. I then posted it on my Flickr site here for those who wish to pixel-peep in 2K HD.
I encourage fellow bloggers to create their own Cellpic Sunday posts. I never have a specific topic for this feature, and the only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone or even a dashcam, that’s also acceptable. The second rule is to link your challenge response to this post or leave a comment here with a link to your post in the comment. Oh, you don’t have to post it on a Sunday.

[…] Hi all 😃 This is my latest post for John’s Cellpic Sunday. […]
A wonderful post in memory, John 👏 I’ve followed your lead with my post: https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2024/11/10/cumbernauld-peace-garden-cellpic-sunday/
Thanks, Jez. November 11 is a day to remember the sacrifices of others. It’s especially poignant for me having recently visited the American Cemetery in Normandy.
Nice to know that the garden is dedicated to war veterans. Next time if possible you can provide a separate click for the statue. (I can understand the situation of clicking from inside the car)
I plan a future visit to the entire park, next time through.
