This week, Michelle W. asks us to share rainbows. From the challenge post: “’Roy G. Biv’ is an acronym made of the first letters of the seven colors of the rainbow, to help you remember: Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Indigo. Violet. It’s also your photo challenge theme for this week!” The post goes on to give us several options, including images of actual rainbows. For this challenge, I searched my archives and found two locations that presented me with a rainbow of colors. In the opening image, a vegetable market displays the entire rainbow. OK, so blue vegetables are hard to find, but the cherry tomatoes are in blue boxes. Violet and indigo are there in onions and eggplant. This market is in the iconic Public Market district near the water’s edge in Seattle, Washington.

The image of Butchart Garden’s sunken garden is the first image that came to mind. It is one of my favorite images, and every color of the rainbow was in bloom that day we visited British Columbia’s famed garden.

My fourth and final image is from the Rainbow State, specifically along the Na Pali Coast on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. We saw several rainbows on the dinner cruise catamaran Sunset Star that evening. You can read more about that experience here.
