Maricopa, Arizona.
Meet Gene Tweedy and his dwarf car. The 1950’s era Chevrolet was hand-built to 11/16th scale by Gene in the workshop of the Dwarf Car Museum in Maricopa, Arizona. The vehicle is complete with engine and drive train systems and is street legal. The miniature car museum is the brainchild of Ernie Adams who started with a scale model vehicle built from old refrigerators. In a future Travel Tuesday, I will be featuring a full story on the museum with a gallery of images of my favorite dwarf vehicles.
About the photo: I got in a hurry to head to Maricopa and the museum and forgot to take my “professional” cameras. I realized as we got a few miles from home that the only camera I had with me was my Samsung S7 cellphone. Rather than go back and get my cameras, I decided to do the shoot with my cell phone. The image was processed using Lightroom and HDR Efex 2. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple. The image must be captured on a mobile device.

I was fortunate to catch a show on TV that featured the museum and discovered it is only a bit over an hour from our house here in Buckeye! Stay tuned for more.
Huh, dwarf car eh? Weird… The craftsmanship looks exceptional, it just seems kind of a waste to build a little tiny car. Even if it’s done exceptionally. I wonder if they actually drive them around?
Jay Leno drove one on his TV show, but I doubt these cars see the road regularly, though they could if the builder wanted. Looking at the mini 64 chevy this guy is currently building, I am truly impressed with his metal working skills.
