Cellpic Sunday – 28 October 2018

Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Last weekend we spent some time in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee as we traveled through the Great Smoky Mountains. Though the fall colors weren’t spectacular and not at peak, the scenery is none the less beautiful. This cellpic image of the Oconaluftee River was captured from a bridge near one of the many scenic pull-offs along Highway 441 as it twists, turns, and tunnels its way through the park.

About the photo: Captured on my Samsung S7 cell phone, I tried a new processing tool on the image. Skylum Software recently released Aurora HDR 2019 for Windows and having become familiar with Luminar, I decided to give the new HDR program a try. This is the first image I used that was not a 3-shot bracket from my Nikon camera. I must say it does a great job of helping me interpret my vision for the image. In most browsers, you can click on the image for a more detailed view. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple. The image must be captured on a mobile device.
