It’s time for another photo challenge entry. This week, Jen challenges us to share photographs that have captured motion, and tell the stories behind the images. You can read the challenge post here. In the opening shot above, a school of dolphins are playing in the surf off the island of Kauai, Hawaii. The shot captured during a sightseeing flight.
At a Cactus League game between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians, a batter reaches for the bleachers. As I recall, this hit ended up being a stand-up double.
On a recent hike, we encountered a group of tourists who rented horses for a trail ride in the White Tank Mountains.
Off the coast of Alaska at Juneau, this Coast Guard boat was moving to be somewhere in a hurry.

Motion is so a part of our world and everyday lives. Great captures.
Thanks! This challenge was fun trying to remember where I captured motion. 😊
John – that capture of the dolphins taken from a FLIGHT?!?! Really special – I love it. Nice shots.
Thanks. We were getting ready to land so we weren’t that high up. I actually cropped out several others in the school to improve the composition and bring them “closer”.
Love your dolphin shot, John!
Thanks.
In looking at your photo of the USCG boat, have you heard of our “autonomous swarm”, referring to small unmanned naval craft?
I hadn’t heard about these. Thanks for the mention. A quick Google search filled me in. These are pretty neat and can warn and protect our assets, human and otherwise.
