It seems to me that one of the best ways to improve interest in a sunset photo is to include a large object or objects in the foreground. Due to the best exposure of the setting sun, that large object is underexposed, leaving a silhouette of its presence. Of course, a silhouette can be easily created in the studio, but for those of us who don’t own a studio, we often rely on natural light for our light source.
