This week, Krista asks us to show something recycled or repurposed. I don’t really have anything around here that I’ve found an alternative use for at this point, but Krista gives us the option to look elsewhere for something clever. You can read the entire challenge post here.
Recently, I traveled to Benson, Arizona with family and on that trip, I recalled an earlier trip through there to Tombstone and Bisbee. The trip to Bisbee introduced me to the Shady Dell, a unique repurpose for mid-20th century trailers and RVs. You see, the Shady Dell is a hotel and the accommodations are, as you can see in the opening photo, repurposed travel trailers and there is even a Chris Craft cabin cruiser. Now, one could say that they aren’t really “repurposed” in that they provide sleeping accommodations, just like they always have. But these RVs are permanent fixtures of the hotel and the interiors are fitted out with mid-20th century accessories. Don’t expect to get reservations for tomorrow, however. I’m told that the reservation list is as long as a year in advance of your stay.
If you’d like to find out more about the unique hotel with vintage RV accommodations, their website is here.

A great fit for the theme, John.
Thanks! It took me a bit to think of something that fit!
Well, you found a unique one!

What a unique idea and out of the box thinking. Crazy it’s so popular.
Yup. It’s on my bucket list to stay there sometime.
