Cellpic Sunday – 1 October 2017

San Antonio, Texas.

While Lynn and I are relaxing on Sunday morning at a family gathering for a wedding, this blog post is automatically publishing right on schedule from my WordPress account. The view from my 16th floor window in San Antonio was pretty nice. It could have been much worse, taken shortly after Houston was being inundated by Hurricane Harvey. San Antonio was prepared as well, but a last minute turn of the storm spared one of Texas’ historic cities. The hurricane that was pelting Houston brought only a few sprinkles to San Antonio on Sunday. The cool weather that followed was much more comfortable than I expected to find Texas in late August.

About the photo: This image was one of a series of photos captured on my Samsung S7 cell phone one evening as the sun set into the western skies. The image is best viewed on a black background. On many browsers, clicking on an image will enlarge it and reduce, if not eliminate the white border around it making darker areas more visible. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple. The image must be captured on a mobile device.

  1. What a pretty skyline, great pic! Not only did you capture the classic just after dusk sky, & an iconic San Antonio skyline, but you also managed to capture the ample parking available! Well played.

    • The newer smart phones have pretty amazing cameras these days. I enjoy sharing the pics from my cell phone after a bit of post processing, but I won’t be giving up my Nikon any time soon. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
