Bryce Canyon, Utah.
This week, Michelle W. asks us to share a photo of a detail that makes a good thing even better. You can read the entire Challenge post here. Almost immediately, I remembered our visit to Bryce Canyon. It was late October and we were headed for our Arizona home. After a warm day visiting two other National Parks in Utah, we headed for Bryce. By the time we got in the area, it was rainy and the high altitude terrain in the area was covered in clouds and fog. Even though we wouldn’t be taking any sunset shots in the park that dreary evening, we drove to the park entrance knowing that in the morning, we’d be driving that route in the darkness. After a light dinner, we found our hotel and promised an early awakening to catch sunrise in the park.
We awoke to over a foot of snow on our car. Those photos of Bryce were truly improved by the snow that covered the area. The opening photo was captured at Bryce Point, and the photo immediately above this text is captured from the Paria View. Even the drive through Red Canyon in the Dixie National Forest presented us with a winter wonderland. I got a great collection of winter landscapes that morning.
The snow-covered landscape surely added the “Cherry On Top” to the day’s photo collection. Stop by my original post for this trip. You can view more of the images I captured at Bryce here.

I love that second shot.
My favorite as well. Thanks.
Gorgeous!
Thanks. It was cold, but worth the discomfort for the great snow covered views.
