Cellpic Sunday – 29 May 2016

Hillsboro, North Dakota.

This summer, our state’s Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is working with North Dakota State University and the Northern Plains Unmanned Aerial Systems Test Site on an agricultural research project. Using an unmanned aircraft (UAV), the project’s purpose is to gather agricultural related data on a 4×40 mile (6.4×64 km) strip of farmland. As supporting players, it is the job of our CAP crews to ensure the safety of all aircraft in the public airspace over the test site area.

Today’s cellpic image captured a rainbow from a nearby rain shower. The UAV had just landed and a tug was towing it off the runway. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple. The image must be captured and edited on a mobile device. Photographed on a Samsung S7 and edited on an iPad.

  1. Pretty! We have a Hillsborough too, though it’s spelt different. We’ll take ya’ there next time, it’s got a brewery, Nola eats, pizza and a good burger dive.
