At this year’s North Dakota Renaissance Faire, we enjoyed watching several performers, not the least of which was this duo. Obviously, we weren’t the only ones who enjoyed their music. This little guy was dancing with his mom for a while, then Daddy came up to keep an eye on him. After a few tentative steps, he reached the edge of the stage and stayed there for the song’s duration.
About the photo: Captured on my Samsung S23U, I exported the image into Luminar Neo after cataloging and basic edits in Lightroom. In Neo, I ran Supersharp, tweaked the Enhance AI tool, and added just a touch of structure. I cropped it square for use on Instagram, something I’ve been doing lately since rejoining the social network after a four-year hiatus. You’ll find me there as steinej2. To pixel-peep the photo in 2K HD, click on the image to view it on my Flickr account.
I encourage fellow bloggers to create their own Cellpic Sunday posts. I never have a specific topic for this feature, and the only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone or even a dashcam, that’s acceptable as well. The second rule is to link your challenge response to this post or leave a comment here with a link to your post in the comment. Oh, and, you don’t have to post it on a Sunday.

Lovely capture!
I love the way, the kid holding the edge and admiring/wondering at his parents.
When he walked up to the stage, I saw a photo coming and quickly got my cellphone ready. 🙂
And what a timely capture!
Too cute, John. What a great capture!
We’d just sat down for a bit of a break. Great timing to capture an interesting moment in time.
Absolutely.
That is such a fabulous photo John. The interaction between the two is magical
A totally unexpected image! I had my “good camera” with me, but it was not readily available for a quick shot like this.
precious photo, John 🙂
Thanks!

Great shot, John! I love Ren Faires! The expression on the musician’s face is heartwarming and I love the child’s ren faire hat. Fun! Here is mine this week, I’m back home and back to “normal” LOL! https://secondwindleisure.com/2023/10/01/sunday-stills-dont-fence-me-in/
A fun visit… looking forward to next year!
I miss going to the faires. We had quite a few in Northern Cal, one fairly close to home. We loved to dress up and get into the mood. I haven’t found one in Spokane yet. I fear covid shut down many of them for good.
I expect you are right, but last year was the first ever faire in North Dakota, and this year, there were two competing faires in the city. Go figure.
John, how cool. I haven’t been to a fair in years!
They are relatively new to us, only having attended in the last few years. They are great fun.

kiddo looks like he’s having a blast listening to the music – always nice to see.
that’s a great camera on the S23U – it didn’t lose the highlights in the back uncovered area while keeping its meter on the subjects
It doesn’t blow out the highlights unless really pushed. There is plenty of detail there so when I run it through my edits, the superbright areas are easily toned down with Lightroom or Neo’s highlights tool.

How adorable is this picture? There’s no reason to analyze it. The whole thing is perfect! 🙂
Thanks, Marsha. A case of right place, right time, right camera!
I agree 100% What a cutie! 🙂
