Weekly Photo Challenge – Transmogrify

Scottsdale, Arizona.

This week, Michelle W. suggests that we focus our challenge images on change; specifically “Transmogrify”. From the challenge post, “…transmogrify, which means, ‘to change in appearance or form, especially strangely or grotesquely; transform.” You can view the entire challenge post here.

It’s been a busy week for me, this post is a day later than usual in part because I’m getting ready for a trip to Maxwell AFB to complete a four-day training for Civil Air Patrol. But I digress…

The opening photo shows a transmogrification of the rear end of a 1959 Cadillac into a living room couch. It could easily be one’s opinion that this transmogrification is strange or grotesque, especially if it is found to be in someone’s living room.

The vehicle above has been only slightly transmogrified, and it’s but one of many examples of custom hot rods featured any year at Barrett-Jackson’s auto auctions. I don’t know the specifics of this vehicle, but I sure know it’s not stock.

My final example for this week’s gallery is a pickup truck designed by Dale Ison. The Heroes Truck’s awesome paint job features a tribute to American heroes. The custom truck is based upon a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. It sold at auction in 2013 for $209,000.

  1. Since I don’t do those Weekly Challenge Posts, I do like the one with the 59′ Cadillac rear end. Would be a real nice conversation piece for my home! Always did love the “tear drop” lights on the 59′ Don’t think I could afford one of those!
