Weekly Photo Challenge – Pure

Kauai, Hawaii.

Fresh, clean and pure of impurities. A gentle rain washes the muck and grime away leaving the pure essence of the landscape. The weekly photo challenge asks us to “conven wholesomeness, something undiluted, or simplicity.” Jen H reflects on purity in the midst of our over-connected world. You can read the entire challenge post here. On the island of Kauai, a visit to the McBryde Garden was dampened by periods of gentle and not-so-gentle rains. Though it became difficult at times to protect my camera gear, the temptation to capture the glistening freshness of the beauty around was too much. I gathered a small collection of flora washed pure and clean by the Hawaiian rains. This post features two of my favorite shots from that trip.
