Cellpic Sunday – 28 February 2016

Goodyear, Arizona.

Estrella Mountain Regional Park is normally dry and dusty. I am writing this in late February, a week early for publishing today’s Cellpic Sunday as we are travelling on the 28th, gathering some more images to share in future posts.

Our hike last week on the Butterfield Trail in Estrella Park featured desert views that were much greener than normal and wildflowers were beginning to make their presence known. The Phoenix area is experiencing an early spring with El Nino bringing us record warmth. Normal averages for this time of year is highs in the 70s F (20s C). In recent days, we’ve had temps in the mid 80s F (30s (C). On this hiking morning, the cloud layer kept hikers comfortable, not too cold and with just enough breeze to keep us cool. It was a beautiful day for a hike in the Sonoran Desert.

The image above was captured with a Samsung S6 cellphone and edited with Snapseed. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple. The image must be captured and edited using a mobile device.
