Late Friday afternoon, Lynn and I returned from a family trip. I didn’t take the time to read any of the many blog posts I follow until this morning (Saturday). I soon learned that several of my fellow bloggers were paying tribute to Bren from the Brashley Photography blog by sharing beautiful floral photographs in her memory. Leanne Cole included the note posted on Bren’s Facebook page by Bren’s son, Steve. I quote it here in part from Leanne’s site.
Sadly my kind, caring and beautiful Mum peacefully passed away today.
She has been the rock to our family for so many years and it’s going to be so hard to fill her boots. Words can’t begin to describe what a fantastic Mother, Wife and Grandmother she was. She put everyone before herself, and even in her dying moments, I’m sure she was more concerned about Stewie the dog being left alone while we waited with her at the Hospice.

Since connecting with Bren’s blog last year, I’ve seen many of her floral images. She had a wonderful talent for photographing flowers, and their blog, Brashley Photography, has many beautiful examples. Bren and Ashley created the website to share their love of nature and architectural photography. Though we didn’t connect on Facebook, we followed each other via Twitter and Flickr and each other’s blogs.
About the photo: As Brashley Photography is based in Kent, United Kingdom, it seemed fitting for me to post a photo of a Victorian garden, an image I captured in 2018 at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in Saint Louis.
I encourage fellow bloggers to create their own Cellpic Sunday posts. I never have a specific topic for this feature, and the only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone or even a dashcam, that’s acceptable as well. The second rule is to link your challenge response to this post or leave a comment here with a link to your post in the comment. Oh, and, you don’t have to post it on a Sunday.

Lovely to see you joining in with the flowers for Bren, and with such a beautiful garden too 🌸🌸
One of the great things about blogs is that when you meet a blogger that’s new to you, a whole world of their experiences opens to you.
That’s very true John 🙂

Hi John, that’s a lovely photo for Bren. I featured flowers last week, so this week you get selfies. What a lovely tribute. I’m glad you included that. That was wonderful that her son let all of us know.
indeed. I know it came from his heart.
What a great son. I’m sorry for his loss.
