Cellpic Sunday – 12 March 2017

Buckeye, Arizona.

A couple of weeks ago, we took a short drive out to Skyline Park, about 10 minutes from our home. On the way back from the park, we found a couple of new places to capture Arizona’s interesting sunsets. We were too late to catch a view of the sun as it descended behind the White Tank Mountains, but there was still plenty of light and color in the sky when I pulled over to grab a couple of images on my cell phone.

About the photo: Captured on my Samsung S7 cellphone at f/1.7 1/350 sec. ISO-50. The rule for Cellpic Sunday is simple. The image must be captured on a mobile device.

  1. I’ll never tire of seeing these gorgeous AZ skies! Miss seeing sunsets in general w/ all the trees, it’s rare to see an actual sunset here…

  2. Dammit, John, I spent about $2,000 on photographic gear and you take a picture with your cell phone that blows mine out of the water? A cell phone that cost less than half what I paid? The least you could do is lie!

    • So, last fall I dropped over $2K myself on a Nikon D500 and accessories. I didn’t even use it! How do you think I feel, Emilio? (Grin) In the right place at the right time… without the “right” camera.
