Here is a bottle of fortitude for those pilots who flew in a time when plenty of courage was needed to put their butt in the pilot’s seat. Let’s not talk about those unsuspecting passengers on those early airline flights. Seriously, this brand of liquor was bottled by the American Liquor Company, Boston, Massachusetts. A little Internet search puts the time frame for this bottle in the 1930s or 1940s. The red colors have all faded from the bottle, but I found there are plenty of examples of this label for sale on the Internet that shows the plane’s red color and the yellow box and ribbon at the bottom of the label had text printed in red.

With family visiting, we went to Wickenburg via the scenic route on the Vulture Mine Road. it has been a few years since we did the Vulture Mine tour so we thought it might be interesting to visit there again. What we found is that the historic old townsite has some more reconstructed buildings than we saw in 2017. They have also opened an outdoor venue for weddings and other gatherings. I’m sure it hasn’t been a good year for that particular attraction, though upon entering, we were told that a wedding was scheduled for that evening and that people would be decorating in preparation for the celebration.

About the photo: There is an old restaurant/bar that has been restored along with several bottles, cans, and jars of food on display behind the counter that appears to now be used for bar service at events. I noticed the empty whiskey bottle on the shelf and captured an image with my Samsung S20U cell phone. A quick trip through Adobe Lightroom and the image was ready for me to post here.
