Those auto auctions sell much more than automobiles. Barrett-Jackson calls their other collections “Automobilia”. Mecum has a category for classic signage, mostly automobile-related, called Road Art. One interesting sign I noticed featured a traffic light/street sign mentioning Times Square at 46th and Broadway.

The tag with lot number indicated that the sign was seen by millions as it hung in Times Squares in the 1970s. Maxies was a company that sold monogrammed t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other souvenirs. The sign is single-sided, so it hung flat on the front of a building rather than perpendicular. Maxie’s Hats sold at the auction for $8,260.

About the photo: The image found its way to my Samsung S20U cellphone, and from there, I uploaded it to my desktop computer for processing.

I finally broke down and got rid of my Adobe Lightroom 6, the last version that people could “own.” I subscribed to the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop subscription plan so I’ve been learning the new (to me) features of subscription Lightroom. I’ve still been using Luminar Neo, but for this image, I stuck strictly with Lightroom for processing.

Maybe someday, I’ll download Photoshop and start using it. >grin< If you click on the image above, you can pixel peep in 2K HD via my Flickr site.

I never have a specific topic for this feature, and the only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone or even a dashcam, that’s acceptable as well.
