Kruger National Park, South Africa.
On several occasions, we stopped at Tshokwane Trading Post and Picnic Site for breakfast while on our morning game drive. One late morning, we saw a gathering of birders who sighted a target over the picnic area. As I walked across the parking lot, I only had my cell phone, so I couldn’t see their target clearly, but the birders were obviously interested in the bird flying over.
As I concluded the Kruger National Park posts on Fridays a couple of days ago, I forgot to mention that I have many more photos of birds taken during our stay in the park. I’ll focus on the various birds we saw in a future Travel Tuesday.
About the photo: Those birders were the only organized birding group we saw in the park while we were there. I captured the image with my Samsung S23U. The photo was cropped and minimally edited in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
I encourage fellow bloggers to create their own Cellpic Sunday posts. I never have a specific topic for this feature, and the only rules are that the photo must be captured with a cell phone, iPad, or another mobile device… If you have an image from a drone or even a dashcam, that’s also acceptable. The second rule is to link your challenge response to this post or leave a comment here with a link to your post in the comment. Oh, also, you don’t have to post it on a Sunday.

Birders sure know how to have fun.
So do some birds
We had similar experiences with fearless birds in South Africa! >grin<
Flocks of birders certainly know how to mob together.

Hi John, coming to you from Fountain Hills today, hence the late start due to laptop and time zone change hiccup! I like that shot of the birders. I have one similar to it from Sacramento years ago as people gathered for leaf-peeping! It will be interesting to know what bird brought them together. Here is mine this week:

We spent some time in Fountain Hills last year as it was pretty close to the condo we rented in Scottsdale.
If you haven’t already discovered Phil’s Filling Station, it’s a great place for cheesecake. This time of year, they also have a Sunday classic car get-together. Check it out.
Oh I will, thanks for the suggestion!

Birders can find fun anywhere — even if we don’t see what they’re looking at! Here’s my entry for today:

Indeed. They had been animated in talking, but when someone spotted the bird, they were all business.

Interesting
Being a birder is, well, interesting.
Birders certainly have more patience than I!
Haha! 😂

The birds certainly aren’t bothered by all the birders, are they? We people are so curious, and isn’t that a great part of being alive. We passed a cow on the road the other day who had the same curiosity and zest for living, only he was people watching as the cars drove by his pasture.
Most birders are respectful of the bird’s environment and don’t want to startle and chase them away. After all, then there are no photos. >grin<
True that! I don’t hear any loud chattering in that picture. 🙂 xxx
